A gang of seven have been arrested for killing one Sunday Okosun and using his body parts for money rituals in Ogun State.
The suspects Lekan Oladipupo, 38; Sulaiman Aremu, 30; Ifayemi Made, 24; Shittu Saheed, 38; Samod Sulaiman, 35; Akanji Moruf, 23; and Tajudeen Adekunle, 36, were arrested in different parts of Abeokuta.
The PPRO, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi disclosed that the younger brother of the victim had gone to pay him a visit at his house in Agbara village when he saw the dismembered body of his beloved brother. He immediately alerted them at the Bode Olude Divisional office, DSP Durojaye Rotimi went with a team of detectives.
The detectives carried out an intelligent investigation, and they acted on the information gathered.
Lekan Oladipupo, a gang member was arrested and he confessed to the crime. He said his job is to look for the victim, kill him and contact the next person, Aremu, who is to dismember the body parts and sell them to standby customers. The other suspects arrested were their customers.
They confessed to having killed more than four people with the body parts like the head, heart, hand, and other vital organs removed. According to them, the code name for the head is a ball, the heart is a transformer and the hand is called a fan. Once a customer comes and mentions these code names, they already know what it means and they immediately begin to look around for their targets.
The suspects have been transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation before charging them to court
