The 14th Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Saka Adeola Matemilola, Oluyalo-Otileta VII, was on Saturday officially installed as the monarch of the kingdom in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, presented the staff of office to the monarch.
Also present at the ceremony were some former governors of the state, including Olusegun Osoba and Ibikunle Amosun. The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III were some of the traditional rulers who attended the event.
The new monarch, who hails from Oluyalo – Otileta ruling house, succeeds Oba Olusanya Adegboyega Dosunmu, Amororo 11, who joined his ancestors last December.
Abiodun commended the Owu people for the seamless process that produced Oba Matemilola.
But Media Adviser to Obasanjo, Kehinde Akinyemi explained the former President was on a mission abroad.
Obasanjo, while congratulating the 14th Olowu, wished him peaceful and developmental reign.
