Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has promised to provide uninterrupted electricity supply if re-elected for a second term in office.
Abiodun, who made this promise during the unveiling of the All Progressives Congress state campaign council in Abeokuta on Saturday, said he had done more than enough projects to ease the work of the campaign team ahead of the election.
He added that his second term would focus on the reduction of the cost of diesel and ensure conversion of fuel to gas-powered vehicles and motorcycles.
He said his administration had laid new set of water pipes across the state to replace the old ones laid over 45 years ago.
He added,
“We have come up with a viable blueprint to be implemented for our second term in office.
Our administration is determined to implement the supply of uninterrupted power to our major cities, towns and industrial hubs.
“Similarly, we are planning to implement Project Light-up Ogun during our second term in office.
“This project will focus on the reduction of diesel price and the constant peril of consumption and pollution as well as the conversion to gas-powered vehicles and motorcycles popularly called okada.
“As we all know that water is key to the survival of man, our administration will provide adequate funds for water supply.
“We have started this by carrying out a major overhauling of Arakanga waterworks to make provision of water available for the people of Abeokuta and its environs.
“We have also implemented the laying of new sets of water pipes across the state to replace the old ones laid over 45 years ago.
“At completion, it is our hope that the perennial shortage of water in any part of our state will be a thing of the past.”
