Anetor Destiny, A suspect in a crime has admitted to being a member of a kidnapping gang that is terrorizing parts of Edo State.
On January 1, 2023, he confessed after being detained in Ila Orangun by Western Security Network Agency agents led by Amotekun Osun.
Additionally, Osun Amotekun Field Commander Amitolu Shittu disclosed that Destiny and his gang members fled Edo to Osun State in order to avoid arrest before their luck ran out.
The Amotekun Field Commander who disclosed that the additional members of the gang comprised: The gang’s leader, Emmanuel, who is 20 years old, Isaac, who is 17 years old, Happiness, who is 18 years old, and Abraham, who is 18 years old, said that when Destiny was caught, the other members ran in different directions into the bushes around them.
He was taken into custody for questioning by corpsmen after he was located following a suspicious movement in Ila-Orangun town.
He admitted to being a member of a kidnapping gang, whose other members have fled, during interrogation.
The Amotekun commander stated, “He confessed further that their gang was responsible for the kidnapping in Benin/Ondo expressway and they operate with guns and other dangerous weapons.”
Shittu added that the security organization is committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment for the people of Osun, while reassuring members of the public that additional members of the gang would be snatched from the group and taken into custody.
