Ahead of Saturday’s 2023 election, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Monday endorsed the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi and his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed for the presidency.
Many reports that the official endorsement happened at the River Plate Park Wuse 2, Abuja.
Among those who attended the event include prominent Labour Party chieftain, Prof. Pat Utomi; the ADC National Chairman, Ralph Nwosu; and ADC’s BoT Chairman.
The development is a big blow to the aspiration of the known ADC presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu.
Kachikwu has endured a rocky relationship with his party’s Chairman, Nwosu.
Last year, the media entrepreneur was named among candidates validly nominated by political parties for the 2023 presidential election despite his “expulsion” from the party.
He was among the 18 presidential candidates approved by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in September 2022.
The Nwosu-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the party had announced the expulsion of Kachikwu from the party for alleged anti-party activities.
