Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State authorities have closed the institution after protests by students.
They are seeking a review of late registration fees and other fees charged by the institution.
On Tuesday morning, students came out their numbers with placards to protest the fees.
They claimed the fees are intolerable and amount to extortion.
Student protesters denounced the N5,000 late registration fee imposed by the school.
They blocked the main gate, preventing both students and staff from entering the university.

The Students’ Union Government President, Dotun Ogunsanya Pka O’Dotman, who described the fees as extortion said;
“This is more worrisome especially that we do not enjoy any facility in the school. There has not been a power supply within and outside the university premises for many years now.”
EKSU Vice Chancellor, Prof Edward Olanipekun, however, on behalf of the university Senate, approved the suspension of academic activities on the campus for two weeks with effect from Monday.
The Head of the Directorate of Information and Corporate Affairs, Bode Olofinmuagun, in a statement, directed all students of the university to vacate the campus immediately and should not be seen within the premises for the next two weeks”.
According to our correspondent in the school, Eksu management are planning to proscribe the Students Union Body and others Faculty Unions.
