Meta Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mark Zuckerberg on Tuesday, April 25, softened WhatsApp regulations to allow access on multiple devices at once.
In a statement, Zuckerberg noted that WhatsApp users will be allowed to install the application on up to four mobile phones and use them simultaneously.
“Starting today, you can log into the same WhatsApp account on up to four phones,” the CEO announced.
Previously, users were forced to log out of one account on a phone to access the application on a different mobile device.
Alternatively, the Meta Group allowed users to access their Whatsapp on their desktops and laptops through the Whatsapp Web software.
The latest announcement came four days after Zuckerberg released an update of the user interface touching on disappearing messages.
“Anyone in a disappearing message thread can long press on a message to keep it. The sender will be notified if it was saved and can decide if it stays or remains a disappearing message,” he declared.
The updates add to the list of many others including the introduction of avatars and beefing up the security of the app with end-to-end encryption, including group chats.
In addition, users can share their WhatsApp status on thief Facebook timelines.
On March 14, the Meta Chief announced that 2023 would be the year to improve the efficiency of the tech conglomerate.
Zuckerburg revealed that the new developments would not only make the firm a better technology company but also improve its financial performance in a difficult environment.
The Meta group is the umbrella company that operates Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, and Messenger and which jointly have more than 5 billion users worldwide.
