Prophet Daniel Abodunrin was torn apart by Lions in the University of Ibadan zoo in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state in 1991.
The U.I Zoo was established in 1948 and it is home to wide arrays of animals, different mammals, birds and reptiles.
On this fateful day in 1991, the zoo was stormed by visitors that want to see the animals and enjoy the serene environment. The Lion being the King of the animals attracts the highest crowd.
It was then this blood daring prophet wanted to show the people the work of the God of Daniel by working right into the lion’s den and pet them like Daniel in the Bible did.
He walked up to some staff members and requested they opened the cage but they didn’t because no one in his right senses would ever allow that.
Accounts states the prophet sneaked into the lion’s cage without the consent of the Zoo staff.
He was clothed in Red robe and a big bible under his arm, when he entered the cage he began to speak in tongues and called on the God of Daniel and said “Jah Jah Jah”. This of course gave the lions a scare as they retreated to a corner.
The prophet felt he did something there, unknown to him that animals are wired to retreat first when they see something unusual in their territory, they access and come back to get rid of it.
He kept chanting bible verse and in an instance the lions pounced on him, this sent a cold stream of shock down his spine. He battled the lions for his life but his strength was no match.
He was torn apart by the hefty lions; people took to their heels after seeing the horrible sights.
The prophet remains was later collected and buried.
