Former Governor of Kogi State, ahaya Bello has been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged N80 billion fraud.
Operatives of the commission had wanted to arrest Bello on Wednesday but he slipped from their hands after he was whisked away by the Kogi Governor, Usman Ododo.
The commission had been trying to arrest Bello to no avail. He was supposed to be arraigned in court on Thursday today), but the former governor is nowhere to be found.
The EFCC declared Bello wanted after displaying his mugshot on its Facebook page on Thursday.
It wrote: “Ex Gov Yahaya Bello Wanted By the EFCC “Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, is wanted by the EFCC for offences relating to economic and financial crimes to the tune of N80.2 Billion.
“Anybody with information as to his whereabout should report immediately to the Commission or the nearest Police Station.”
