A video that has now gone viral on X captured Nigerian army soldiers crying in response to the loss of some of their colleagues in terrorist attacks.
The video was posted by a user, #X-Daily, on Tuesday.
The post read, “Nigerian Soldiers in tears after losing their colleagues in Terrorist attack in Northern Nigeria.”
In the footage, soldiers were seen shedding tears while someone, likely the person holding the camera, offered solace and encouraged them to stop crying.
He said, “Stop crying please, stop crying.
“I tell you guys since morning, my mind no dey here, I no tell you?” the voice questioned in pidgin English.
Reacting, a user, @calebuncovered wrote, “This is why whenever I see civilians bashing soldiers on social media, it pains me deeply. As someone who grew up in the barracks, you have no idea what these guys do to protect this country. You have no idea how far they go to protect this country. They’re literally living a life of uncertainty because death can come anytime, and they would leave their family behind. Yet, some of you still come here and spew rubbish about soldiers.”
@IamOnyedika15 said, “Never tell a soldier he doesn’t know the cost of war.”
@uncle_chidi said, “God please protect our galant soldiers and give us victory over this dark cloud upon our nation.”
@OniovosaHope wrote, “This is painful, may God comfort them”
