In response to a series of violent incidents in Ado-Ekiti, where suspected cult members fatally shot innocent citizens, the Ekiti State Police Command has announced enhanced security measures to arrest the perpetrators while assuring the prevention of further violence.
This was contained in a statement made public on Thursday, signed by Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abutu Sunday.
The statement disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Akinwale Kunle Adeniran has ordered a large-scale deployment of tactical and intelligence units across the state, with a particular focus on Ado-Ekiti.
This effort includes collaboration with other security agencies and local security outfits to ensure the safety of residents and the apprehension of criminal elements.
The police command also urged the public to remain calm and continue their daily activities without fear, while also warning against actions that could escalate the situation.
It further warned that citizens found disturbing the peace will face legal consequences.
“Citizens are encouraged to be vigilant, security-conscious, and to provide the police with credible information that could lead to the capture of those responsible for the violence,” the statement concluded.
