The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) will launch a new mobile app this September for verifying licenses and plate numbers. Elizabeth Jayeola, FRSC spokesperson in Lagos, shared this update on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Thursday
Jayeola, the Sector Public Education Officer for FRSC Lagos State Command, noted that the app will serve both citizens and road safety officials.
“There is the mobile app that is going to be launched in September 2024. It has functions for the citizens and for the FRSC.
“We are going to bring this to the mobile app, you can now check for licenses, number plates and all that,” said Jayeola.
She also noted that radar gun technology has been deployed on the Third Mainland Bridge to monitor and catch speeding vehicles.
Additionally, the FRSC spokesperson highlighted speeding and aggressive driving as major causes of accidents in Lagos.
“In Lagos speeding, distracted driving and aggressive driving are the major causes of road accidents,” she stated.
Jayeola encouraged all citizens to collaborate with road safety officials to help make Nigerian roads safer.
