In a briefing yesterday, the Nigeria Police Force provided details on the arrest of “notorious hacker” Isaac Bristol, allegedly linked to multiple cybercrimes.

Bristol, apprehended by the National Cyber Crime Center, faces charges including criminal conspiracy, breach of the Official Secrets Act, sedition, fraud, and tax evasion.

The investigation began after the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation filed a complaint about the publication of restricted documents on a Twitter handle, PIDOMNigeria. Among the accomplices identified is David Hundeyin, along with others.

They were allegedly involved in leaking sensitive documents and raising funds for cyber terrorism.

The Inspector General of Police has emphasized the force’s dedication to safeguarding national security and vowed to take swift action against any threats to the country’s stability. Bristol has been charged in court and remanded in custody.
