South Korean actor Song Jae-rim has died at the age of 39.
According to multiple outlets including CNN, People and The Korea Herald, the former model-turned-actor was found dead in his apartment in Seoul on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
The outlets reported that Jae-rim was discovered by a friend, whom he had planned to share lunch with.
Seoul Seongdong police said there was no evidence of foul play at the property and that a note was also found, CNN added.
“Our initial investigation so far, has revealed no signs of criminal activity,” police told CNN. “Since the family did not want an autopsy, we will proceed with transferring the deceased to his family’s custody.”
Jae-rim’s breakout role was in the 2009 movie Actresses, according to Variety. He then starred in 20 episodes in the 2012 drama Moon Embracing the Sun, before appearing in the 2014 reality show We Got Married.
The outlet added that the star’s final appearance was a leading role in the Yang Tae-jin-directed action-comedy film Get Rich, which started post-production in late September.
