The Muslim community is mourning the loss of esteemed Islamic cleric and preacher, Sheikh Muhyideen Ajani Bello, popularly known as “Oniwasi Agbaye” (Global Preacher). Sheikh Bello passed away on Friday at the age of 84.
Sheikh Akeugbagold Taofeeq announced the news of his demise, expressing his deep sadness and loss. He described Sheikh Bello as his father and mentor, saying, “Today is one of my saddest days! My father and mentor has returned to his creator. SULTONUL WAHIZEEN of Yorubaland Sheikh Muhyideen AJANI BELLO, may Allah be pleased with your soul. Aljannah fridaos for you.”
Sheikh Bello was born in Ibadan and began his journey as a public speaker at the tender age of 10. His thirst for knowledge led him to request living with his uncle, who ran an Islamic school in Ibadan, at just nine years old.
The Muslim community, friends, family, and students of Sheikh Bello are in mourning, and condolences are pouring in. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may Allah grant his loved ones the strength to bear this loss.
