Odobotu Community Celebrates Botu Day 2025 In Grand Style | MarvelTvUpdates

The Odobotu Youth Forum spearheaded the movement and planning of the event, as the sons and daughters of Odobotu, both home and abroad, gathered on Friday, January 3, 2025, to celebrate Botu Day 2025.

The event, hosted by Abiodun and Uthman, kicked off at 3 pm at Adelaja House Junction, Dominion Hospital Way, Odobotu, Ijebu Igbo. The opening prayer by Prophet Adebanjo Unique.

Chairman of the Odobotu Youth Forum, Mr. Adedeji Tosin, delivered a keynote speech, thanking all attendees and sharing the history of Odobotu.

He highlighted the community’s unique philosophical, political, and administrative arrangement, comprising four quarters:

1. Itun Odo
2. Itun Ile Nla (Ogbeni)
3. Itun Seriki
4. Itun Onirun-Akoku

These quarters are represented by their Olorituns, forming the Botu-in-Council, headed by Olorilu/Oloolu.

Mr. Tosin emphasized the need for unity among youth and the importance of appointing a new oloriilu/oloolu of odobotu to coordinate the community, as the stool has been vacant since September 2017.

Dr. (Otunba) Bosun Ogundipe, Medical Director/CEO of Evolution Hospital Ltd, true son of odobotu also served as the Father of the Day. In his speech, he:

1. Urged Odobotu indigenes to strive for excellence
2. Announced an annual scholarship program (₦250,000) for deserving students
3. Encouraged community development through education, innovation, and unity

1. Dr. Otunba Bosun Ogundipe and his wife, Mrs Ogundipe
2. Chief Imam of Odobotu, Alhaji Adedeji

6. Oloritun Odo

Special guest and true son of odobotu, Mr. Lanre, delivered a powerful purple-themed speech, urging Odobotu youth to: Believe in themselves and embrace their heritage

He also announced at the Botu Day 2025 celebration was truly inspiring. He pledged to support the youth of Odobotu by offering assistance with admission into any tertiary institution in Nigeria. To facilitate this, he shared his contact information, encouraging interested individuals to reach out to him for guidance.

His commitment to empowering the youth and contributing to the growth and prosperity of Odobotu is truly commendable. By providing this support, Mr. Lanre aims to create opportunities for the next generation of leaders from Odobotu to thrive.

Additionally, Mr. Larry shared his passion project: Hosting a radio program highlighting Ijebu and Yoruba lineage and cultural pride His words motivated the youth, fostering unity and ambition.

Chief Imam of Odobotu, Alhaji Adedeji Blesses Botu Day 2025 Celebration. The revered Chief Imam graced the event, offering heartfelt prayers for Odobotu’s sons and daughters, wishing them peace, prosperity, and unity.

The Odobotu Youth Football Team, Botu FC, was recognized with awards of excellence for winning two major tournaments in Ijebu Igbo in 2024.

At the Botu Day 2025 celebration, Mr. Seyi Martins Idowu recognized Botu FC’s outstanding achievements, presenting awards to the team’s players and coaches for representing Odobotu with excellence.

Additionally, Mr Seyi Martins pledged financial support to the youth, demonstrating his commitment to empowering the next generation.

The ceremony concluded with a closing prayer by the Chief Imam of Odobotu.

The celebration continued into the night as DJ Authentic delivered an electrifying performance, filling the air with infectious beats and rhythms. The Odobotu youth gathered, letting loose and dancing the night away.

Hypemen Glacq and Fcash added to the excitement, hyping up the crowd with their energetic and unforgettable performances. The night transformed into an unforgettable experience, stretching from dusk till dawn.
