The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has responded to an AI-generated image that portrayed him as a Muslim engaging in prayers during Hajj in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
The controversial image, which surfaced online late last year, depicted Adeboye in traditional Islamic attire, performing religious rites.
The development sparked widespread discussions and debates on social media about the implications of such AI-generated content.
Addressing the matter during the first Holy Ghost Night of the year 2025, held in the early hours of Saturday, Pastor Adeboye acknowledged the image but dismissed any concerns about its authenticity. Speaking at the event, he said, āIām sure many of you saw that picture showing me as an Alhaji.ā
The pastor, who has often been vocal about his unwavering commitment to Christianity, used the opportunity to emphasize his dedication to his faith and the importance of discernment in the age of advanced technology.
While Pastor Adeboye did not elaborate further on the incident, the Church Times Nigeria reported his remarks as part of his message to his congregation, urging them to remain steadfast in their beliefs.
