[VIDEO]: I Am Raising My Kids Alone, Says Popular Nollywood Actress, Funke Akindele

Popular Nigerian actress Funke Akindele has accused her estranged husband, Abdulrasheed Bello, also known as JJC Skillz, of neglecting his responsibilities toward their children.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2016 and welcomed twins in 2018, publicly separated in June 2022. At the time, JJC Skillz took to Instagram to announce the split, stating that while they were now living separate lives, issues such as child custody and shared business interests still needed to be resolved.

In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Akindele opened up about the emotional turmoil she’s faced over the past year, revealing that she has been solely responsible for raising their children.

She spoke candidly about the challenges she endured following her mother’s death, her divorce, and her political loss in the 2023 elections, saying it left her in a dark place.

“I don’t like to mourn for long. When my mum died, I tried to move on quickly,” she said. “But it hit me hard later. My heart was in pain. Something happened online, and I went live on social media for the first time, telling people to stop stressing me. I was wrongly accused, I lost my mum, my marriage collapsed, I failed in politics, I had to return to work, and I’m raising my children alone.”

She added, “For the first time, I broke down and cried. I was overwhelmed for weeks.”
