Portable has been released from custody following the withdrawal of the criminal defamation case filed against him by Fuji legend, Osupa.
Portable, who was arrested on Saturday, April 13, by operatives of the Kwara State Police Command in Abeokuta, Ogun State, was taken to llorin after a petition was filed by Osupa. The petition accused the singer of criminal defamation, threat to life, incitement, character ass*ssination, and other offences.
However, on Tuesday, the case took a new turn when Osupa’s legal team submitted a formal letter to the court, announcing their client’s decision to withdraw the matter.
According to the letter, prominent stakeholders in the music industry and other respected figures had intervened, urging Osupa to forgive Portable in the interest of public peace.
The letter also requested the court to admonish Portable to refrain from making further defamatory statements or actions against Osupa.
Following his release, Portable returned to social media with a transformed look, debuting a a shaved head via his Instagram stories. He also publicly apologized to Osupa, sharing a photo of the Fuji singer with the caption: “God bless you sir, I’m sorry. Bami.”
In subsequent posts, Portable expressed gratitude to his fans and reflected on his ordeal.
“Alhamdulilahi for everything. Big thanks to all my lovers. Zazuu, I’m sorry for everything. If I do you bad, ninu Ogun ni ogo wa,” he wrote. “To those people outside there wey dey pray for me, beg for me, una too no go fall ooo. Only God. I never see. Ogo ni mi. God sent. God love me. I love you all.”
In another post, he added: “Zazuu. Ono ope mi opor.
OPF, OPOR FAR. Sope Por… por. Let God Lead not Adam & Eve.”
