Aisha Wahab has been released by her abductors after a ransom of ₦20 million was reportedly paid, according to Nigerian singer Davido’s logistics manager, Isreal DMW.
Isreal confirmed the development in a post on his official Instagram handle on Friday night, expressing relief that Aisha was freed unharmed. He also disclosed that the kidnappers insisted on the full payment before releasing her.
“Aisha is finally free. A ₦20 million ransom was completely paid. No discount, no refund. Nigeria has happened again. May we never be victims,” he wrote.
Aisha was said to have been abducted days ago by unknown gunmen. Her kidnapping drew public attention after close friends and associates began appealing for support and prayers for her safe return.

Though details of where and how she was abducted remain unclear, her family pleaded with Nigerians to help rescue her, as they couldn’t meet the ransom demands.
Isreal’s post has since sparked concern and outrage across social media, with many Nigerians questioning the state of security in the country and the growing normalisation of ransom payments.
While some social media users thanked God for Aisha’s safe return, others expressed anger that citizens are still left at the mercy of kidnappers, with no clear intervention from security agencies.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the police nor any security agency has issued an official statement regarding Aisha’s abduction or rescue.
