The Ijebu Ode community has been thrown into mourning following the passing of the esteemed mechanic and mentor, Alhaji Abdul Fatai Adesanya, popularly known as Fatai Rewire.
He died peacefully in the early hours of today at the age of 94, after a brief illness, at his residence in Degun Area, Ijebu Ode.

Alhaji Fatai Rewire was more than a mechanic he was a pillar of knowledge, a trainer of many, and a man whose extraordinary skill helped define the rewire profession across Ijebu Ode and beyond.
His workshop, popularly recognized as Fatai Rewire Mechanic Workshop Oke Ijasi Street, became a renowned hub where countless young men learned the trade, built careers, and found direction in life.

His dedication, humility, and mentorship made him a household name. For many decades, his home stood as a landmark for rewires in Ijebu Ode, symbolizing excellence and discipline in the automotive electrical craft.
Family, apprentices, colleagues, and the entire community will miss him and a great loss, a man whose impact shaped generations. “We will miss him greatly.
