A Kaduna high court has sentenced Victor Solomon, also known as Zidane, to death by hanging for murder after defending his Adara community from Fulani Terrorists.
Zidane was arrested in 2018 for killing a terrorist while defending his Adara community against Fulani terrorist attacks during the El-Rufai administration.
He was charged for murder in two different state high courts which one of the courts acquitted him of the charge while the other now condemned him to death.
The case has raised questions about the fairness of the judiciary, as Zidane was acquitted of the same charge by another state high court.
Meanwhile, Human rights advocates argue that the sentence is a miscarriage of justice, given the circumstances of the case.
Similarly, Many Nigerians are questioning why Zidane was charged with murder in two different courts and why the death sentence was upheld despite allegations of judicial bias. Zidane’s family and supporters are calling for a review of the sentence, citing concerns about the influence of external factors on the judiciary.
