Emotion ran high on Friday as family members, colleagues and sympathisers gathered in Osogbo, Osun State capital, for the burial of Lasisi Oluwamayokun, a female officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command, and her daughter, Adesewa.
The 38-year-old FRSC officer and her daughter were laid to rest at the burial ground of St. John’s Anglican Church, Ita-Olookan, Osogbo, amid tears and lamentations as their remains were lowered into the graves.
Oluwamayokun and her daughter were reported missing on the morning of Sunday, November 2, 2025, after leaving their residence at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State, and failing to return home.
Their disappearance later took a tragic turn with the arrest of Victor Fajemirokun, described as the deceased’s manfriend. When paraded before journalists, the 40-year-old suspect allegedly confessed to luring Oluwamayokun and her daughter to their deaths at the hands of some herbalists in Osun State.
Fajemirokun was paraded alongside two suspected herbalists, Gboyega Daramola and Sunday James, at the headquarters of the Osun State Police Command in Osogbo.
At the burial service, grief-stricken colleagues from the FRSC and family members struggled to hold back tears, as the victims were lowered into the graves.
