Barely seven days of Bola Tinubu visits to Nigeria, his scheduled to leave Abuja on Monday, January 26, for a state visit to the Republic of Türkiye.
The trip is aimed at strengthening diplomatic ties and exploring cooperation between Nigeria and Türkiye in areas such as security, education, social development, innovation, and aviation.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, said the visit follows Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s official trip to Nigeria from October 19 to 20, 2021.

The trip is aimed at strengthening diplomatic ties and exploring cooperation between Nigeria and Türkiye in areas such as security, education, social development, innovation, and aviation.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, said the visit follows Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s official trip to Nigeria from October 19 to 20, 2021.
He added that Tinubu will engage in strategic discussions with Turkish officials on shared priorities in finance, communication, trade, and investment.
During the visit, Tinubu is expected to hold high-level meetings, including the signing of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) in scientific research, energy, technical cooperation, media and communications, military collaboration, and protocol.
A business forum will also bring together investors from both countries to explore potential partnerships and investment opportunities.
Tinubu will be accompanied by senior government officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, Attorney General and Minister of Justice Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN, Minister of Defence General Christopher Musa (rtd), National Security Adviser Malam Nuhu Ribadu, Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed, and other key members of his cabinet and security team. Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria at the conclusion of the visit.
