Social media critics, VeryDarkMan, has criticised Bola Ahmed Tinubu over what he described as the administration’s reliance on influencers and rice distribution as part of early campaigns for the 2027 general election.
In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), VeryDarkMan questioned the President’s record after four years in office, arguing that the administration should be campaigning based on its achievements rather than promotional strategies.
“President Tinubu has been in power for four years and now campaigning for reelection,” he said in the video. “Instead of campaigning on the work you’ve done, you are using rice and hiring influencers to campaign for you.”
He further alleged that political mobilisation groups and social media figures were being engaged to promote the Tinubu’s second-term bid.
“You’re arranging city boys movement, city girls movement to campaign for you here and there, getting the hottest baddy in town to come and campaign for you,” he stated.
The social media commentator questioned why, in his view, the administration still needs persuasion efforts to secure public support.
“Make it make sense that in all four years you still need people to convince people to vote for you,” he said. “The people are supposed to be begging you to remain in power, but you know you haven’t achieved anything in four years. It is a shame,” he added.
