The All Progressives Congress (APC) has successfully conducted its Local Government Congress across the 20 local government areas of Ogun State.
The exercise took place on February 21, 2026, in line with the timetable approved by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and the provisions of the party’s constitution. Accredited delegates and statutory members gathered to elect new Local Government Executive Councils.
In Ijebu North Local Government Area, the congress was peaceful and well attended. At the end of the exercise, new executives were inaugurated.
Hon. Lawrence Mosunmola Oladipo was returned as Chairman, while Hon. Segeto was re-elected as Vice Chairman. Mrs. Supo emerged again as Women Leader, with Alhaja Odunsi Otunbanjo as Assistant Women Leader. Mrs. Ramot Hazmat also retained her position as Youth Leader. Some former executives were re-elected, while a few positions were adjusted based on agreement among party leaders.
The process was conducted by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and supervised by Executive Chairman Odusanya Omobolaji and Hon. Nuberu A. Olufemi. There were no reports of disputes, showing unity and cooperation among party members in Ijebu North.
The event was attended by several party leaders and stakeholders, including former Deputy Governor Prince Segun Adesegun; the Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Prince Tokunbo Talabi; Joseph Folorunsho Adegbesan (MHR); Commissioner for Cooperatives, Alhaji Klass Ademola Balogun; Chief Bayo Dayo; Hon. Babatunde Ipaye; Alhaja Olatuke Omotara; Alhaja Tola Agbeja; Otunba Mrs. Adetoun Oduwole; Asiwaju Olugbenga Nuberu; Alhaji Olufodun Moibi; serving and former members of the National and State Assemblies; councillors; ward executives; and delegates.
Others present included Prince Ganiu Buhari (Gabfoundation), Hon. Farouq Adenugba, Engr. Segun Kaka, Murphy Adebayo Adesegun, Adewale Adeshina, Hon. Fatai Adesegun, Hon. Adeyemi GLO 1, and Hon. Deacon Razaq Kunle Akilo GLO 2, among many others.
The newly inaugurated executives were advised to remain committed, fair, and dedicated to strengthening the party at the grassroots level as preparations begin for future political activities.
