The people of Ijebu Igbo and the entire Ijebu North Local Government are set to witness a significant milestone in community security as the newly established Ijebu Igbo Police Command will be officially inaugurated and commissioned on Thursday, February 26, 2026, by the Nigeria Police Force.
The project, which has been widely described as a major boost to grassroots security architecture, received strong backing and initiative from the revered monarch, HRM Oba Jaiyeoba Lawrence Adebajo, the Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo (OJUROMI VI).
His Royal Majesty’s commitment to the safety and development of the town played a pivotal role in bringing the project to fruition.
The new Police Command is strategically located along Adeboye Road, directly opposite the Customary Court in Ijebu Igbo. Its central location is expected to enhance rapid response to security matters and improve coordination of law enforcement activities within the community and its surrounding areas.
Community leaders and residents have expressed optimism that the establishment of the command will significantly strengthen efforts to address security challenges, maintain law and order, and protect lives and property across Ijebu North Local Government.
The commissioning ceremony is anticipated to attract dignitaries, security stakeholders, traditional rulers, government officials, and members of the public, marking a new chapter in the town’s security framework.
Congratulations have continued to pour in for the good people of Ijebu North as they prepare to welcome this laudable development.
More details about the commissioning ceremony and attending dignitaries will be announced in due course.
