Nollywood actress and filmmaker Etinosa Idemudia has weighed in on the growing debate surrounding rape allegations.
We reports that the mother of one called for strict punishment for individuals who make false claims.
The actress shared her position on Instagram on Thursday, stating that boys deserve protection just as much as girls.
She argued that false accusations can destroy lives and insisted that those who deliberately mislead the public with such claims should face jail time.
She wrote: “The boy child needs protection just as much as the girl child. End false allegations today! I recommend jail time for false accusers.”
Her comment comes amid the controversy involving TikToker Mirabel, who recently went viral after alleging that she was raped in her apartment in Ogijo, Ogun State.
The claim sparked outrage online and led to calls for justice before she later withdrew the allegation and admitted that parts of her story were not true.
Police in Ogun State have since continued investigations and indicated that legal action may follow after her medical care.
Meanwhile, popular Nigerian disc jockey Dorcas Fapson, popularly known as Ms Dsf, also shared her thoughts on the controversy.
She said she initially doubted the story and suggested that the TikToker might have mental health challenges requiring attention and proper handling.
