The Police Service Commission (PSC) has confirmed the promotion of 13 Commissioners of Police to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG).
Among those elevated is the former Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Lanre Ogunlowo, who now becomes an Assistant Inspector General of Police.
According to the Commission, the officers earned their promotion after excelling in both the written and oral examinations conducted as part of the promotion process.
Members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in Ogun State have expressed pride in the promotion of Ogunlowo, describing his tenure as Commissioner of Police as impactful and remarkable.
During his time in Ogun State, Ogunlowo was credited with introducing a technology-driven approach to crime fighting, which significantly strengthened security operations in the state.
Speaking on behalf of the committee, the Ogun State PCRC Public Relations Officer, Babatunde Odeyemi, congratulated the newly promoted AIG and praised his outstanding service to the people of the state.
While acknowledging that he will be greatly missed, the PCRC noted that Ogunlowo’s achievements and dedication to duty will remain on record.
They also wished him success in his next posting as he assumes his new responsibilities.
The PCRC reaffirmed its commitment to its motto: “Service to the Nation and Humanity.”
