On Thursday, the Akwa Ibom State High Court in Uyo sentenced Uduak Frank Akpan to death by hanging for the murder of Iniubong Umoren, a graduate of philosophy, University of Uyo in Akwa Ibom state.
Eons Intelligence reported that Uduak Akpan, the suspected killer of Iniubong Umoren, had on July 26, 2021, pleaded guilty to murdering her.
Umoren was declared missing in 2021 but was later found dead on April 30.
She was said to have been lured to meet the suspect over a potential job offer.
Following widespread public outrage, the suspect was apprehended by the state police command.
The court held that Akpan will die by hanging.
