A source has refuted the reports saying that Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus was arrested in connection with the demise of Ifeanyi Adeleke, the son of singer Davido and Chioma Rowland.
Badmus had come under fire for ‘profiting’ off the death of the infant after she broke the tragic news on social media.
It was subsequently alleged that she was apprehended by the police after Ifeanyi’s nanny claimed that it was the actress who distracted her from watching the boy before he went into the swimming pool and drowned.
In a chat with Sunday Scoop, the source who is close to Badmus disclosed that she was not arrested and that she has no relationship with the nanny in question.
“Eniola was not arrested by the police. She is in her house and the police have also confirmed that she was not arrested.
“As I speak with you, she is in her house, eating. She does not even know Ifeanyi’s nanny, talk more of calling her.
“People can say whatever they like. This is a grieving period for Davido, and the issue is a sad one.”
The Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin also confirmed that the Nollywood star was not arrested.
“The story (on Badmus’s arrest) is false; nothing like that happened. The two suspects are still with us. The autopsy has been concluded. The autopsy confirmed that he (Ifeanyi) died by drowning”, he stated.
