The newly appointed Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, is expected to formally resign from his position as a Lawmaker on the floor of the House of Representatives today.
It was gathered that Gbajabiamila’s decision to step down is driven by his commitment to dedicating his full attention to his new role as Chief of Staff.
There have been doubts regarding his ability to effectively manage both positions, especially considering his recent inauguration and active participation in voting for the House’s leadership, which took place on Tuesday.
This newspaper learnt that exclusive information obtained suggests that the respected Member representing Surulere 1 constituency will indeed submit his resignation.
Consequently, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will be obligated to organise a fresh election to select a successor, as mandated by the law.
