A devastating road accident occurred on the Ago Iwoye-Ilisan expressway this afternoon, claiming the lives of two students and leaving several others injured.
According to information gathered that, the accident involved a vehicle carrying eight students. The cause of the accident is still unknown, but it is believed to have been a result of reckless driving or a mechanical fault.
Rescue efforts were swift, with six of the students rescued and rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. One student is currently receiving treatment at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OUTH) for a penetrating injury to the lungs. Two students are being treated at Love and Care Hospital for slight head injuries, while two others are receiving treatment at the Mini Campus Health Center and are reported to be doing fine.
The bodies of the two deceased students have been taken to the Ijebu Ode General Hospital.
