Christian Wake-Keeping and Song of Service held in honor of the late Prince Yekini Adetola Adelaja of the Olugbawojo Ruling House, Owu-Ijebu, the Christian Wake-Keeping Ceremony was a touching and emotional celebration of a life filled with dedication, kindness, and faith. He died at the age of 74.
Prince Yekini Adetola Adelaja was married to Mrs. Sidikatu Taiwo Adelaja, and their union was blessed with three wonderful sons.
Born on 3rd March 1951 and called to glory on Sunday, 6th July 2025, Prince Adelaja was remembered for his integrity, strength, and unwavering devotion to God and family.

His Life and Legacy
Prince Yekini Adetola Adelaja was a devoted Christian who served faithfully at the Celestial Church of Christ. A man of deep principle, compassion, and humility, he touched many lives both within and outside his family.
Educational Background:
He attended Adeshola Memorial College, Ibadan (Secondary School), and proceeded to Technical College, Ijebu Ode to study Electrical Engineering. He later obtained his National Diploma (ND) from The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
He worked as a teacher at the Technical College, Ijebu-Igbo, before establishing himself as an independent electrical engineering contractor.
Prince Adelaja is survived by his beloved wife, Mrs. Sidikatu Taiwo Adelaja, his children, grandchildren.

Heartfelt Tributes at the Wake-Keeping Service
During the Wake-Keeping Ceremony, heartfelt tributes were shared by family, friends, neighbors, and well-wishers.
His wife, Madam Sidikatu Taiwo Adelaja gave an emotional speech, expressing her gratitude for their life together and promising to keep his memory alive.
His younger brother described Baba as a man of discipline and unity, someone who brought the family together and selflessly supported others, even helping him travel to Ibadan to seek greener pastures.
Many neighbors who lived with him in Ibadan also paid their respects, recalling his kindness and generosity, especially how he would share water and always sent greetings through the landlord association. Testimonies poured in from all corners, reflecting the deep impact he made during his lifetime.
One of his sons who resides abroad, along with others who couldn’t attend physically, followed the Wake-Keeping Ceremony via MarvelTvUpdates’ Instagram live stream.
Prince Yekini Adetola Adelaja may have departed this world, but his love, faith, and the lives he touched remain eternal. He leaves behind a lasting legacy that will be remembered and cherished for generations.
