PDP’s Only Councillor in Lagos LG Poll Returns to APC, Elected Yaba Legislative Leader

Hon. Babatunde Dosunmu, the sole councillor elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2025 Lagos Local Government Elections, has officially rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC) and emerged as the Leader of the Yaba LCDA Legislative Council.
Representing Ward D (Abule Oja), Hon. Dosunmu had initially left the APC for the PDP ahead of the primaries but has now returned to the ruling party.
His defection back to the APC was announced immediately after the inauguration of the council, during a proclamation on the floor of the legislative house.
Fondly called “Baba” by constituents, Hon. Dosunmu is widely known for his strong grassroots support.
He was elected Leader of the Legislative House with 5 votes to 4, marking a significant political comeback within the Yaba LCDA.
