In a heartfelt message addressing recent online rumors, Imisi’s mother has clarified allegations that she sent her daughter out of the house at the age of 12.
The mother, who has asked to remain identified only in relation to her daughter, said she was unaware of such claims and denied ever forcing her daughter out of the family home.
Speaking about the incident, she said that on her way back from a friend’s house, she noticed two women watching a TikTok video she made about Imisi the day before and they were both criticizing her, alleging that she had sent Imisi away at a young age and she got r+ped.
“I never did that,” she emphasized, adding that both her mother and younger sister were also unaware of any such incident which was One of the reasons I reached out to Imisi even after big brother to clarify things but she didn’t give me the chance,” she said.
She asked that they chased me out. I want her to come forward and clarify this publicly.” The mother also responded to claims that she pressured Imisi for money. She said the only financial support she ever received from her daughter was 50,000 naira, stressing that she has never asked for more cos she is comfortable financially.
“I carried her through her pregnancy, breastfed her child, and have always checked in on her. While she lived with my mother at some point, that was her grandmother’s request,” she explained. “For those insisting I chased her out or demanded money, please ask Imisi directly.”
The statement comes amid a wave of social media speculation about the relationship between the mother and her daughter. She concluded by saying, “I have always acted as a loving mother, and nothing else.”
