Two Survivors, 16 Dead in Ghastly Crash Involving AFUED Students Heading to NYSC Camp

A tragic accident occurred involving an 18-seater bus carrying prospective NYSC members from Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo State, en route to the NYSC Orientation Camp in Gombe State. The crash reportedly happened along a northern highway, resulting in the loss of lives.
According to reports, 16 passengers, including the driver, were feared dead, while two others were critically injured and rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but preliminary reports suggest it may have been due to overspeeding or mechanical failure. The NYSC and relevant authorities are yet to issue official statements on the incident.
This devastating incident has sparked widespread grief and calls for improved transportation arrangements and stronger safety measures for NYSC participants.
