The Fuji music community in Ijebu-Igbo and beyond has been thrown into mourning following the death of popular Fuji singer Sefiu Olawale, fondly known as Osilo Gbajamo. He was 53 years old.
According to a correspondent who spoke with MarvelTvUpdates, the respected musician was involved in a serious accident on Friday in Ibadan. Sadly, he succumbed to the injuries and passed away in the early hours of this morning.
Osilo Gbajamo was widely known for his powerful vocals and unique style, which many admirers often compared to that of the legendary Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister (MFR). His voice, delivery, and mastery of Fuji rhythms earned him deep respect among fans and fellow musicians, particularly in Ijebu-Igbo, where he remained a household name for decades.
Throughout his career, the late Fuji maestro was celebrated for his consistency, humility, and dedication to promoting Fuji music at the grassroots level. His songs resonated strongly with lovers of traditional music, and his presence at social and cultural events will be greatly missed.
Family sources confirmed that the late singer will be laid to rest today at 4:00pm, in accordance with Islamic rites, at Okeagbo, behind Eleyun House, Ijebu-Igbo.
As tributes continue to pour in from fans, colleagues, and community members, many have described his death as a painful loss to Fuji music and the entire Ijebu-Igbo cultural space.
