A notable act of community-driven philanthropy unfolded on Sunday, February 1, 2026, in Oke-Agbo, Ijebu-Igbo, as Mr. Olumodan Adeniyi Isaiah, popularly known as Oluomo, disbursed a total sum of N3,000,000 to empower 15 grassroots beneficiaries across the town.
The economic empowerment initiative was organised to commemorate the 65th birthday and 5th coronation anniversary of His Royal Highness, Oba Stephen Adeleke Adekoya (MBA, FCIA), Iluyomade I, Bejeroku of Oke-Agbo, Ijebu-Igbo.
The programme, held at Shamsudeen Grammar School, Oke-Agbo, targeted less-privileged but industrious individuals drawn from several communities, including Okemoro, Idosa, Imagbon, Anoye Market, Aledo, Odomoro, and Iga. Beneficiaries received financial support aimed at strengthening small businesses and promoting sustainable livelihoods.
Speaking through the gesture, Oluomo emphasized the importance of practical support for grassroots development, noting that celebrating royalty and leadership should also translate into meaningful impact on the lives of ordinary people.
The disbursement was administered by the Oluomo Committee of Friends (OCOF), which coordinated the selection and distribution process to ensure transparency and fairness.
Residents and community leaders present at the event commended Oluomo for his generosity, describing the initiative as a model of responsible leadership and a fitting tribute to the monarch’s milestone celebration.
The empowerment programme added a strong social impact dimension to the anniversary celebrations, reinforcing calls for increased private-sector and individual participation in community development across Ijebu-Igbo.
