Babcock University has extended warm congratulations to Alhaji Abiodun Olawale Lawal Abinugbola following his conferment as the Oluomo of Ijebu Igbo, ahead of his official installation.
In a congratulatory letter dated February 2, 2026, and signed by Dr. Jonathan M. Dangana, Associate Vice-President, Alumni, Connectivity & Philanthropy, the university described the honour as a recognition of Alhaji Lawal Abinugbola’s outstanding contributions to community development, business advancement, and philanthropy.
According to the letter, Babcock University acknowledged his impact within Ijebu Igbo and beyond, particularly through community-driven initiatives such as grants schemes, Micro-SME support with equipment and interventions aimed at supporting the elderly and other vulnerable members of society.
The institution noted that, as a recognised leader of the people of Ijebu Igbo and a proud alumnus of Babcock University, Alhaji Chief Lawal Abinugbola is expected to bring fresh vision, service, and commitment to the revered traditional title entrusted to him.
“Your achievement reflects the values of excellence and service which we hold dear,” the letter stated, adding that his life of service has earned him the honour.
Babcock University concluded by celebrating the new Oluomo and offering prayers for divine wisdom, grace, and strength as he assumes his new responsibilities in service to the people and the community.
