Ijebu-Igbo was enveloped in splendour, tradition, and royalty as His Royal Majesty, Oba Jayeoba Lawrence Adebajo, the Orimolusi of Ijebu-Igbo, formally installed Alhaji Chief Abiodun Lawal Abinugbola as the Oluomo of Ijebu-Igbo, a title being conferred for the first time in the history of the ancient town.
The historic installation ceremony, held at the revered Orimolusi Palace in Ijebu-Igbo, attracted an impressive assembly of traditional rulers, high-ranking chiefs, political leaders, and eminent personalities from across Ogun State and beyond, all gathered to honour and celebrate the new Oluomo.
Adding glamour and cultural prestige to the occasion were prominent Nollywood figures, including Mr Latin, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Foluke Daramola, Madam Saje, Sola Kosoko, Bisola Badmus, Opebe, and many other notable actors who graced the event in solidarity.
The celebration was further elevated by outstanding musical performances from legendary Fuji maestro King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (KWAM 1), Musiliu Haruna Ishola, Remi Chanter, alongside fast-rising Afrobeat sensation Brymz, whose electrifying performances kept the audience entertained throughout the ceremony.
The day was marked by pomp, pageantry, and overwhelming goodwill, reflecting the deep cultural heritage of Ijebu-Igbo and the high esteem in which the new Oluomo is held by his people.
