Oru-Ijebu, Ogun State – The Muslim community in Oru-Ijebu and beyond has been thrown into mourning following the passing of the Chief Imam of Oru-Ijebu, Sheikh Alhaji Abdullah-Kabir Akewusola Adeleye.
The revered Islamic cleric, known for his dedication to the service of Islam and humanity, reportedly returned to his Almighty Allah after years of committed spiritual leadership and guidance to the faithful.
Sheikh Adeleye was widely respected for his humility, deep knowledge of the Qur’an, and unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and moral discipline within the Muslim Ummah. During his time as Chief Imam, he played a significant role in strengthening Islamic teachings and fostering harmony within the Oru-Ijebu community.
His death marks a great loss not only to the Muslim faithful in Oru-Ijebu but also to the wider religious community in Ogun State.
Muslim faithful and community leaders have continued to pour in tributes, describing him as a father, mentor, and beacon of light whose legacy will endure for generations.
Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family and the Oru-Ijebu Muslim community in accordance with Islamic rites.
