The office of the Oluomo of Ijebu-Igbo has addressed the ongoing dispute involving the Ijebu-Igbo Police Division.
According to the statement, the Oluomo of Ijebu Igbo Alhaji Chief Ismail Olawale Lawal Abinugbola is prepared to present up to 50 witnesses and relevant transaction receipts to support his claims if further public statements are made by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) on the matter.
However, he stated that he has chosen to remain calm out of deep respect for the revered royal fathers who have stepped in to mediate and maintain peace in the community.
The Oluomo of Ijebu Igbo, Alhaji Chief Abinugbola emphasized that he has no personal vendetta against any police officers. He explained that his position is not driven by hatred or bias, but by a desire to see a police system that respects the rights and dignity of the people in Ijebu Igbo and environs.
Alhaji Chief Lawal Abinugbola reiterated his commitment to lawful engagement and peaceful resolution, while expressing confidence in the traditional leaders’ efforts to resolve the issue amicably.
