Mirabel Admits Fabricating Rape Claim, Police Move to Arrest and Prosecute Over Alleged False Report

The Ogun State Police say they plan to arrest and charge a TikTok user, Mirabel, after she reportedly admitted that her earlier rape claim was not true.
Mirabel allegedly made this confession during a phone call with social media personality VeryDarkMan (VDM). In the audio recording that later went viral, she was heard apologizing and admitting that parts of her original story were false.
A police source said officers have been following the case closely. They also said Mirabel will be arrested after she is discharged from the hospital where she is currently receiving treatment.
Earlier, Mirabel had claimed on TikTok that a stranger forced his way into her apartment in the Ogijo area of Ogun State and raped her. Her claim caused strong reactions on social media.
In response to the new development, the Ogun State Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, said the police are looking into the matter and will release an official statement soon.
