A man identified as Goke Jaiyesimi, a former student 1995/2001 and Senior Prefect boy of the 2001 set of Molusi College, Ijebu-Igbo, has reportedly been abducted by suspected bandits while travelling to Sokoto State.
According to information circulating online, the kidnappers are demanding a N100million ransom for his release.
In a viral video currently making rounds on social media, Adegoke was seen pleading for help and appealing to the public and his loved ones to assist in raising the ransom demanded by his captors. In the emotional clip, he was heard begging for his life and urging that the ransom be paid so he could regain his freedom.
Sources describe Jaiyesimi Adegoke as a true Molusian and a respected member of the Molusi College alumni community in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State.
The incident has raised concerns among friends, family members and members of the Molusi College Old Students Association, many of whom have begun calling for urgent intervention and support to ensure his safe release.
As of the time of filing this report, details surrounding the exact location of the abduction and the response from security agencies remain unclear.
Kidnapping for ransom has continued to pose serious security challenges in several parts of Nigeria, particularly along highways and in some northern regions.
