The management of Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Ijebu-Igbo, has reaffirmed its commitment to a free, fair and peaceful Students’ Union Government (SUG) election following the successful conclusion of a stakeholders’ meeting with all aspirants.
At the meeting, attended by the school management, the SUG Electoral Committee, and contestants vying for various elective positions, all aspirants signed a Peace Agreement, pledging to conduct themselves responsibly before, during and after the election.
The peace accord is aimed at ensuring a violence-free electoral process and promoting unity, mutual respect, and sportsmanship among all candidates and their supporters.
According to the SUG Electoral Committee, the 2026/2027 SUG Election is scheduled to hold on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with accreditation and voting taking place simultaneously at designated polling booths across the campus.
Students have been encouraged to come out in large numbers to exercise their civic responsibility by voting for credible leaders who will represent their interests. The committee also urged all students to maintain peace and order throughout the electoral process.
The school management commended all aspirants for embracing dialogue and signing the peace accord, expressing confidence that the election would be conducted in a peaceful, transparent and credible manner.
As the institution prepares for the polls, the message remains clear: “Your Vote Counts. Your Voice. Your Power. Your Future.”
