Governor Ademola Adeleke Floors APC Governorship Candidate at His Polling Unit

Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has been declared the winner of his polling unit 009, Abogunde/Sagba, Ede North Local Government.
According to the results announced by the Presiding Officer, Adebimpe Susan Dunsin, Adeleke, who is the candidate of the Accord Party, scored 421 votes to defeat other contestants.
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Oyebamiji, won 29 votes while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, got only one vote.
Only 457 of the 1082 voters registered at the unit came out to cast their vote, and voting concluded at 4:15pm.
The result announcement generated massive celebration among Adeleke’s supporters, and residents gathered around the polling unit, with the crowd chanting the governor’s campaign slogan, “Imole.”
Adeleke had earlier arrived at the polling unit and was accredited by the Presiding Officer at about 8:35 a.m. before casting his ballot.
The governor, while speaking to newsmen after casting his vote, expressed confidence in his chances of securing victory in the election and urged residents across the state to turn out in large numbers to exercise their franchise.
He also called on voters to protect their votes throughout the electoral process and remain vigilant during voting, sorting, counting and collation.
He noted that the election provides the people of Osun with an opportunity to freely determine who will govern the state for the next four years.
Adeleke further appealed to voters and political supporters to remain peaceful and law-abiding, while urging them to stay at their polling units to monitor the process in line with guidelines issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
