LEADERS of the All Progressives Congress in Ward 10, Illeh-Ekpoma in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State have announced the suspension of one of the party leaders in the ward, Goddey Okhiulu.
Goddey Okhiulu, who is said to be an aspirant in the forthcoming local government congress of the party, was suspended over allegations that he unilaterally imposed a family member as the ward chairman of the party.
This was contained in a statement signed by 28 out of 31 ward executive members and leaders of the party and made available to journalists, on Wednesday
They also pledged their loyalty to the leadership of the party in the state led by Col. David Imuse (retd.).
The statement read in part, “We pass a vote of implicit confidence on our State Chairman, Col. David Imuse (retd.), the State Secretary, Mr Lawrence Okah and the other state executive members of our great party.
“Recently, the Ward Congresses were conducted throughout Nigeria by our party. We conducted our own as directed by the party but we were taken aback when we were told that one of the leaders, Mr Goddey Okhiulu, has already submitted his own list of executive members to the state chapter of our party.
“As a result of the said Mr Goddey Okhiulu’s act of impunity, arrogance and total disregard to the leadership and executive members of the party in the ward; we, therefore, suspend him from our party with immediate effect.”
