I Want To Govern Ekiti State Again – Segun Oni |MarvelTVUpdates

Olusegun Oni, also known as Segun Oni, a Nigerian politician and a former Governor of Ekiti State between May 29, 2007, and October 14, 2010.

Segun Oni has said his decision to join the 2022 governorship race was predicated on the yearning of the people of the state for good governance.

He was a member of the ruling People’s Democratic Party. In 2014 he defected from the PDP and joined the newly formed opposition party All Progressive Congress.

He made it known to journalists after his expression of interest and nomination forms, at the headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party, in Abuja, on Monday.

He said, “We are responding majorly to the sentiment people have been expressing in our state about the service we rendered to them when I was the governor of the state.

“Based on that, the people believe that they and us still have more to give to one another.

“That is why we have decided to take it upon ourselves to run again for the governorship of Ekiti State so that by God’s grace we will be able to render more service to our people.”

He was then asked if he had plans to continue from where he stopped in his first term, he said, “Am I going to continue? My answer will be yes. Because what we rendered was very much appreciated as good quality service.

“Because it is appreciated as good quality service, that’s what they want again. We will begin from where we stopped. There are a lot of things we did not take to conclusion.

“We will have an opportunity now to do justice to them. So, we’re going to start where we left, but we’ll take the state further down to a new terrain where we’ll be able to add value, much more value to the lives of the people.”
