Guinea-Bissau midfielder, Judilson Mamadu Tuncará Gomes, known as ‘Pele’ has revealed his club will do everything possible to beat Nigeria and qualify for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Round of 16.
The Super Eagles and Guinea-Bissau will meet at the Stade Omnisports Rounde Adjia on Wednesday in the final Group D match of the ongoing 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.
The Super Eagles and their coach Augustine Eguavoen have already qualified for the Round of 16 after defeating Egypt and Sudan, respectively.
On the other hand, Pele who currently plays for Monaco in the French Ligue 1, promised that they would give everything to earn their first-ever win at the 2021 AFCON after losing to Egypt and playing a 0-0 draw with Sudan in their first two games.
“It is our ambition to qualify and we are not giving up on that, we must do everything to defeat Nigeria because it is very important for us,” Pele told Goal.
“We will fight with everything we have and if we play as we did against Egypt, we will qualify. We want everyone at home proud of us.”
